1 / 3Sloan's Lake Park Playground North
π Sloan Lake, CO
Sloan's Lake Park Playground North sits on the northwest edge of Sloan's Lake, delivering open views of the water. Easy parking is a consistent plus. Some equipment shows wear, and goose activity is heavy around the lake edge.
A beautiful lake and an amazing trail around it. Unfortunately this whole area does seem to have a reputation of being a Republican hotbed. Likely due to the high rent costs here, which are influenced by the lake. Regardless, if you're just trying to visit a water future to feel more connected to your roots, this is a pretty good spot to go. As far as public parks in downtown go, it's super clean. Though in all the curiosity has been observed by me. It seems to be completely abandoned at night, I know that sounds normal. But at a lot of other parks and trails I usually encounter 2 to 3 homeless people on my way home. Here it's eerily quiet with no one around. During the day I see a few of them, And they always seem like they're going to rush. Sorry if this one's a little unfocused, I've been awake for 24 hours writing this. It's been a stressful couple of weeks, months, And years.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with younger kids who want a quick play session with a beautiful setting. The lake trail is a bonus for families with older walkers or joggers. Watch for goose activity near the playground perimeter β it's a known nuisance. Equipment wear means supervising closely on older structures.

βCute playground with a great setup and a nice view. Plenty of parking. Took off a star because everything looks a little run down: some of the toys for kids are starting to rush or have chipped paint, and there was also goose poop everywhere.β

Overview
Positioned along the north shore of Sloan's Lake, this playground benefits from one of Denver's most scenic urban backdrops β water views and mountain sightlines on clear days. Parking is notably easy compared to busier Denver parks. Reviewers flag that some equipment is aging, with rust and chipped paint on certain pieces, and geese congregate heavily in the area. The surrounding lake loop trail extends the visit for active families.
