Parking: There’s plenty of free parking in the lot behind the building, with the entrance off Los Robles. Service: We visited on a Saturday morning right at opening (9 AM) and had no wait. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Environment: This museum functions as a toddler-focused play space with a variety of rotating stations and activities, which seem to change seasonally. My 2-year-old had a great time and played for more than two hours. They also offer an interactive story time that my little one enjoyed. There’s a designated baby area for children up to around 18 months. Cleanliness: The toys were well maintained, and I appreciated the dedicated bucket for “mouthed toys,” which shows they’re proactive about sanitizing. The restrooms were clean, equipped with a baby changing station in the accessible stall, and even had a Dekor diaper pail for disposal. Value: Admission is $10 per person, with babies under 1 year old free. Staff mentioned that admission is valid for the entire day, allowing you to leave and return later. This is a great value, especially compared to other children’s play spaces that charge by the hour. Additional Notes: Hours are fairly limited—they close at 3 PM most days. I was told they’re usually closed on Sundays for private events. It may not be the best option for families with older children, as most activities are geared toward toddlers.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

This museum is ideal for families with toddlers and children under 5 who want a safe, interactive play space with rotating activities. The $10 admission offers good value for a full day of play, but the limited hours (closing at 3pm) can be challenging for working parents. Best visited on weekend mornings when you can maximize the time and avoid nap schedules.

August 2025. Small indoor playground, reasonable price. Also participating in museum for all program for reduced ticket pricing. Has private and street parking. Entrance will be in the back private lot. Clean bathrooms. Air conditioning which is a plus in summer and hot days. Nursing room/lounge with diaper changing stations. Upper floors are off limits for staff only. They have a classroom and also offer private parties. Great for kids under 5. We enjoyed the space for our 3 yrs old to run around and go wild without the stress of getting lost or damaging things. Very safe space to explore and we spent a good 2hrs here. My toddlers favorite station was the ice cream cart. Other kids favorite stations were the vet office and campground/tent. The cushion playground and slide is a great addition to watch babies/toddlers go up/down independently without having to chase them up the playground. Based on previous reviews and past visits, this location rotates play areas and features in their space. So it is an every changing space with old and new play features for guest to interact and be surprised on their next visit. Would recommend on those hot days and/or if you are in the area. Wouldn’t drive out here just for this but it’s a great addition to Pasadena and what it offers to littles under 5

The Southern California Children’s Museum is such a wonderful place for little ones. The space is clean, thoughtfully designed, and full of fun, hands-on activities that kept my child engaged the entire time. I really appreciated how interactive everything was and how welcoming the environment felt for families. The staff was kind and helpful, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into creating a safe and enjoyable experience for kids. It’s the perfect spot for play, learning, and letting children explore their creativity. There was even a spot for my kids to have lunch with a fridge and high chairs available! We had a great time and will definitely be back! Highly recommend for families with young children.

Cute place for toddlers but the hours are extremely challenging, especially for toddlers and young children with nap schedules. Closing at 3pm weekdays means parents aren't able to take kids after school when they may really need somewhere safe and dry to be.
