1 / 3Tanglewood Park South
đ Applewood West, CO
Themed pirate ship structure with an attached sandbox plus a second standard playground. Open park setting with minimal tree shade. Kids report wanting to return after first visit.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for toddlers through early elementary kids who love imaginative themed play. The sandbox adds a sensory element for younger children. Parents should plan for full sun exposure and bring water and sun protection, especially in warmer months.

âMy daughter and her friends enjoyed this park a lot- she's already asking to go back here. There's plenty of variety here, with the "pirate ship" playground having a sandbox with it, and there's a regular playground as well. The downside is there didn't seem to be a lot of shade here- we were here on a cloudy afternoon, but I imagine that on sunny afternoons it's quite hot.â

Overview
Tanglewood Park South features a standout pirate ship-themed play structure complete with an integrated sandbox, plus a separate conventional playground for additional variety. The open layout gives kids room to roam and parents clear sightlines across the whole space. Reviewers note the park is well-designed and engaging enough to earn repeat visits. Pack sunscreen - shade is sparse throughout the park.
