Staff is kind and helpful, walls are changed regularly on a schedule, and the community is incredibly inviting
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 7 and up. Auto-belay walls allow children to climb without a certified adult belayer. The shorter top-rope walls are less intimidating for first-timers than 50-foot sport climbing walls. Instructor-led beginner sessions are the recommended starting point.

βMy wife and I visited for some quick climbing after a conference. The toperope/autobelay routes were shorter than at most sport climbing gyms Iβve been but the setting was very good. Most routes were not marked with a difficulty which would have been nice. They have a much larger selection of boulders as well that we didnβt have time to try. Over all Id go back when in the area.β

Overview
Set in Franklin's General George Patton Dr business park, The Crag offers top-rope and auto-belay walls alongside a larger bouldering selection. Routes are reset on a published schedule, keeping the terrain fresh for regulars. Instructor-led sessions are available for beginners. Reviewers note the top-rope walls are shorter than at sport climbing gyms, making them particularly accessible for children and new climbers, as the bouldering selection compensates with volume and quality.
