Elementary-age kids love the giant Triceratops skeleton climbing structure and rock wall at this school-attached neighborhood park. Open after school hours with excellent shade for Houston's hot weather.
This unique neighborhood park is attached to Travis Elementary school, and itβs open from after school until dusk. My kids loved the giant dinosaur bone climbing structure and the rock wall. Thereβs a walking trail, a traditional playground, little free library, a pavilion, and a grassy area to play on. The park was clean but the basketball rims/nets were removed from the basketball court so those are unusable. Hopefully they will fix that soon. Plenty of benches available and the park itself is fairly shaded. Did you like this review or find it helpful? Click the thumbs up if so! :)
π Family Action Verdict
Perfect for dinosaur-loving kids who enjoy unique climbing structures, especially during Houston's hot weather thanks to excellent shade. Best suited for elementary-age children who can navigate the fossil-themed playground equipment. Be aware that some facilities may need maintenance and the park is only open after school hours on weekdays.

βShady paradise, in our Houston heat!! My Connetticut visiting grandkids loved the dinosaur π¦ skeleton. The playground. The variety of activities and especially the book box. While my kids had snacks, I read them a book. It was a fun visit for sll, and so close to my home!! Thank youβ

βπ¦β¨ Youβve stumbled into a mini Jurassic theme park right in the middle of Houston. The centerpiece is a mighty Triceratops skeleton, sprawled like it just took a nap after munching some prehistoric ferns. Its three horns and wide frill make it look like the ultimate dino bouncer - βNo small humans past this point!β Scattered around are other gigantic bones - the ribcage arches up like a natural jungle gym, perfect for tiny adventurers to clamber over, and the massive leg and arm bones are ready - made balance beams. Kids are riding them like theyβre daring explorers on an ancient treasure hunt. The whole scene is part science museum, part playground, part dino daydream. Basically, itβs a fossil fiesta where imagination gets a free pass to run wild. πΏπ¦΄πβ
