1 / 3Valley Park
π Hermosa Beach, CA
Well-maintained Hermosa Beach park with playground equipment for younger and older children, a basketball court, large grassy areas, mature shade trees, picnic tables, and clean restrooms. Free entry with ample parking.
Lovely neighborhood park in Hermosa Beach β decent size and beautifully maintained. There are clean bathrooms, a nice playground (with equipment for younger and older kids), and a basketball court with metal backboards and rigid hoops. The court doesnβt have lights, though the promenade/path around the park is lit at night. Thereβs also a very well-kept picnic area with picnic tables and even two sinks, which is a great touch. Street parking is free, though it can fill up quickly depending on the time of day. Dogs on leash are welcome, and it's a beautiful neighbourhood to walk through as well. Few blocks down, you can reach the beach too and continue with a nice stroll there.
π Family Action Verdict
A reliable anchor for families combining park time with a beach visit β the proximity to the Strand makes it straightforward to split the day between the playground and the water. Younger children benefit from the shade and enclosed feel of the park; older kids extend to the basketball court. An ice cream truck visits regularly, so cash is useful.

βValley Park, located in a residential area of Hermosa Beach is just adorable. It it not huge, but a good size. It is known well by the locals. My grandson and I happened upon it on a drive one day. It is so pretty. It has lovely trees and a full area of kids things to do. The place is kept super clean and it is a very safe park. What is super cool is the ice cream truck comes by every day and it will take you back to childhood. There is something to do for everyone and if you just want to relax, there is plenty of space to lay out a blanket and have lunch or do whatever you want. We love this place.β

βNice open park with a playground, basketball court, large grassy area, and mature trees offering good shade. There are picnic tables, plenty of parking, and restrooms on site. I've also seen dogs enjoying the open space, running freely on the grass. Great spot to relax or play.β

βShare your love with the neighborhood. Play and grill out. I've spent many mornings basking in the early sun, still a little green from the night before. It's a good cheerful place with small happy voices to lay around and get your sea legs back.β
