West Thames Park
π Manhattan, NY
Modern enclosed playground in Lower Manhattan with gated entry, water play features in summer, soft safety flooring, basketball courts with lowered hoops, and a turf soccer field. No restrooms on-site.
This is a great playground. The best thing about it is that it's enclosed and there's a gated entrance/exit. I feel safe having my kids play while I sit at one of the picnicb benches. There's a great soccer field AND even a basketball court with lower hoops for younger children. There's a really cool sprinkler section in the summer, many obstacles courses for kids to climb and even a sand box. In addition, there's a built-in bike path and even a community garden that folk can sit in and enjoy. The only issue I have is that there are no restrooms. That's a huge problem for me.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers through primary school-age kids who want a contained, modern play space in Lower Manhattan. The enclosed gated design makes supervision straightforward. Plan bathroom breaks before arriving β no restrooms on-site. Summer visits unlock the water play features.

βA downtown playground with new play structures for different ages. Spacious and with a unbeatable view of Freedom Tower. There's no shade or covered space so could be a issue during the summer. Other than that a great place for kids to climb and run. There's a cafe right across the street to grab a coffee or quick bite.β
