🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families visiting downtown SF who want outdoor play without leaving the cultural district. Multiple sections cater to different ages. The sandbox areas attract bigger groups on busy days, so families with very young children should visit outside peak hours.

💡Access the Play Circle through main entrances — north-side Paseo has ongoing construction
ADA ramp access is available near the Howard and 4th Street corner by the carousel
🎟️Combine with the adjacent carousel or museum visits for a full downtown outing

This is my daughters favorite park, but there are a huge group of kids here and they are pouring sand down the slides, my kid got a bunch of sand in her eyes and the parents are just standing by and not stopping them. The smaller kids can’t play because they are throwing large cups of sand down the slides and it’s flying everywhere
