1 / 3Adventure Playground π
π Manhattan, NY
Architect-designed Central Park playground featuring a wood pyramid, concrete climbing mound with tunnels, water spray features, and sand areas. Free entry, ages 5 and up get the most from it.
Itβs an Adventure Playground indeed. So many obstacles and structures to explore. Our group of explorers loved it along with a pick-up game of hide and seek. Mostly all well behaved kids and feels like a safe park with only one egress ππ€©π¦
π Family Action Verdict
Kids aged 6 to 12 who want to climb, hide, and scramble rather than sit on swings will find this one of the most engaging playgrounds in New York City. The water features draw a crowd on hot days. Use the main park restrooms before arriving β there are none on site β and keep an eye on food in sandy areas.

βI've been going here since 1988, and used to have Super Soaker wars with other kids in the 90's. One of my favorite parks. I was very happy to bring my son here.β

Built by Robert Moses the Power Broker that made all the major infrastructure good or bad in New York! Helpful tip the hours are from sunrise to sunsetβ

Overview
This 1967 Richard Dattner-designed playground replaced standard equipment with a concrete climbing mound, tunnel network, elevated slides, and a central water channel with spray jets. Sand tables and open sand areas anchor the lower level. The single entry and exit point creates a naturally contained environment. Located on the west side of Central Park near 67th Street.
