Children who are walking confidently will exhaust the facilities quickly and will be better served by the nearby Adventure Playground. Bring beach toys for the sandbox and use restrooms elsewhere before arriving â none are on-site.

âVery nice playground for younger kids (2 and under). It seems to be recently renovated, with all soft ground and nice small structures for little ones to explore. There are a few swings and a sandbox. Nothing too crazy, but plenty of stuff for a young kid to play with. No restrooms nearby. The place is right by Adventure Playground, much better suited for older kids.â

âA smaller playground built for toddlers with kiddie swings, sandbox, easy to climb constructions, and minimal water spray in the summer. Safe for smaller children, but they will quickly graduate to the larger and more varied Adventure Playground across the path.â

Tarr-Coyne Tots Playground is built to the scale of the youngest Central Park visitors â structures, surfaces, and spacing all calibrated for crawlers and new walkers. A conical climber with tunnels and slide, fortress-style structures, adaptive swings, sand area, and summer water feature cover the essentials. The larger Adventure Playground is a short walk up the hill for older siblings.
