1 / 3Bayshore Playground
📍 Belmont Shore, CA
Long Beach waterfront venue at 54th and Ocean with swimming, kayak rentals, floating bounce houses, basketball, pickleball, racquetball, and a playground — all with direct water access and easy parking.
A great place to take the kids. Well ran by lifeguards. I wish people would clean up after themselves because there are chicken bones in the water and candy wrappers in the sand.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for active families with kids across a wide age range who want water and land activities in one location. The floating bounce houses are a standout for younger children; older kids gravitate to the courts and open water. Litter in the sand and water is an ongoing issue — bring your own cleanup supplies and supervise young swimmers closely.

“Great place to swim, kayak, SUP, and climb a floating gym. Good place to bring kids. You will find many triathletes, OWS and Master swimmers swimming here.”

“Perfect place for pickleball at sunset! Salty air, tons of seagulls in the background… Oh except when one of the basketball players brings a speaker and blasts his music… Otherwise great! Only one court and we got lucky that there were only 4 people who wanted to play pickleball so it worked out. Bathrooms available, and it’s right on the water where you rent kayaks. Lovely location.”

“EEEEEEEASY parking, I love that there are water buoys to protect from sharks 🦈 that's the best part. Great place to take the family. They have kayaking for like $12 an hour per person. Fun stuff. They have floating bounce houses for the kids. It made me wish I was a kid again. Good times, good times. I would give it a 5 if they had bounce houses for adults lol.”
