1 / 2Playground | Mother's Beach
π Naples, CA
Protected lagoon with calm water ideal for toddlers and nervous swimmers, paired with a playground for mixed-age groups. Kayaking and paddleboarding launch easily from the shoreline.
Wonderful fun playground for the kids, they enjoyed playing and exploring there. Parking is not free. When we arrived on Monday morning they were cleaning the walkway, blowing the sand off the playground. There were people doing yoga, we also saw a pelican, people kayaking. And the bathrooms were open, faucets working. So nice!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers or children who are not and confident open-water swimmers. The lagoon removes the variable of unpredictable surf, and the playground keeps older siblings occupied. Arrive on a weekday morning for the cleanest conditions and easiest parking.

Overview
Mother's Beach sits in a sheltered bay where wave action is minimal, making it one of the few Los Angeles-area spots where very young children can enter the water safely. The adjacent playground extends the visit for families with mixed ages. Kayaks and paddleboards can launch directly from the beach. Morning arrivals find staff actively cleaning the walkways and playground surfaces. Bathrooms and water fountains are operational and maintained.
