π Manhattan, NY
A cutting-edge immersive museum featuring 15 experimental spaces where art meets technology. Best for families with older children and teens who appreciate interactive digital installations.
I visited Mercer Labs, the Museum of Art and Technology in downtown Manhattan, and it completely surpassed all my expectations. This isnβt just another art space β itβs a full-on multi-sensory adventure that blends art, tech, and imagination in ways that feel truly groundbreaking. GetYourGuide From the moment you step inside, you realize this is not a typical museum. Each of the 15 immersive exhibition rooms offers something distinct β from mesmerizing 360Β° light installations and pulsing soundscapes to interactive zones where you actually become part of the art rather than just a spectator. GetYourGuide What I loved most was the variety: β¨ Stunning visual environments that feel like walking into a dreamworld. One Good Dad β¨ Interactive tech experiences β some rooms feel like the future of museums where art responds to your presence. GetYourGuide β¨ Sensory play areas, from swings and sand to mirrored mazes and light caves. Yelp The staff were also friendly and genuinely excited β giving helpful nudges about what to explore next and keeping the energy upbeat throughout the visit. Yelp And yes, there are lots of photo ops, but what makes Mercer Labs stand apart is that it doesnβt feel like just a backdrop for selfies β itβs immersive in a way that engages your mind and senses. GetYourGuide A few notes to help future visitors: π Take your time β rushing through makes you miss the magic. GetYourGuide π Some rooms can be intense with lights and sounds β amazing if youβre up for it! Yelp π Ticket prices reflect the uniqueness of the experience, but I absolutely feel itβs worth it for anyone who loves art, creativity, or tech. GetYourGuide Overall, this was one of the most memorable and inspiring experiences Iβve had in NYC. Whether youβre visiting with friends, family, or on a date night, Mercer Labs delivers in a wow-worthy way. Highly recommended β Iβll definitely be back! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
π Family Action Verdict
Best suited for families with older kids and teens who appreciate art and technology, especially those seeking a unique NYC experience. The interactive installations and photo opportunities make it engaging for children, though the high price point and potential for sensory overload may not suit all families. Skip if you have very young children or are budget-conscious.

βMercer Labs Museum of Art and Technology is one of the most unique immersive experiences in New York. From the moment you walk in, the space feels like a blend of art gallery, science exhibit, and futuristic playground. Each room offers a different sensory experience, combining light, sound, mirrors, and digital installations that make you feel like youβve stepped into another dimension. What makes Mercer Labs special is how interactive everything is. Instead of just looking at art, you become part of it. Some rooms surround you with shifting lights and reflections, while others respond to movement, creating constantly changing visuals. Itβs the kind of place where every corner feels designed for discovery and curiosity. The production quality is impressive. The technology, lighting design, and overall creativity make the experience feel very polished and immersive. Itβs also surprisingly thought-provoking, exploring the relationship between art, technology, and perception in a fun and engaging way. Whether you enjoy modern art, technology, or simply want a memorable experience in the city, Mercer Labs is absolutely worth visiting. Itβs visually stunning, creative, and unlike most traditional museums. A must-see spot for anyone looking to experience something innovative and inspiring in New York.β

βVisiting Mercer Labs was an incredible experience. The museum is truly immersive and thoughtfully designed β every installation draws you in and makes you feel part of the space. I loved how time, light, sound, and cutting-edge technology are woven together to create something both futuristic and emotional. Each room offers a completely different perspective, and you find yourself constantly surprised by how technology can interact with perception and the sense of time. Itβs visually stunning, intellectually engaging, and simply very cool. A must-visit for anyone interested in immersive art, technology, and modern experiences. I would absolutely go again.β

βI am a museum girly. This was interesting. When you enter they give you a brief overview of what it is on display and then some rules to the place. Once you enter, starting at the first room, you are immediately immersive in the experience. I love the rooms and the illusions of technology that they provided. I cute date or even solo- itβs enjoyable. Oh and might I add a great photo-opβ
