1 / 2Eugene A. Obregón Park
📍 Los Angeles, CA
Eugene A. Obregón Park offers shaded picnic areas with hill views, playground equipment, and free parking. Restroom access is inconsistent — plan accordingly and visit during daylight hours.
This park is haunted at night. A couple of years ago, I had to park on the street and decided to park my car by where the plaque that says Eugene Obregon Park is located. This was around 2:45 am. When I parked it and stepped outside, this figure with a hoodie arose from behind a bush and started to walk slowly behind me. I had to walk home and I had to go up the hill where the taco truck is at. I was on the phone with my friend and I was telling him that something is behind me. When he told me to look back, I saw a floating hoodie walking up the hill following me. I literally saw no legs or arms, it was a floating grayish hoodie and the inside of the hoodie was pitch black. I started running and went home and I never saw that again. Crazy part was that there was no cars passing on the street and no else was on the streets except for me. Weeks later, my father parked his car exactly where I parked it. He parked it around 3am and he told my family and I that some ghost was following him and he said that it was wearing a hoodie. He said he didn’t see any arms or legs but that it was slowly walking behind him on the hill. When he said this to us, I got goosebumps because I told my family that I saw that same thing a couple weeks back. To this day, we never park our car there at night because we are afraid if that thing is still there. I’m not sure if anyone has a similar story, but I can guarantee you that it’s haunted at night. If anyone else has a similar story, I’d like to hear it.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Works best for families seeking a low-key daytime picnic spot with hill scenery. Bring your own food and plan restroom stops before arriving. Families who need reliable restroom access or well-maintained equipment will find stronger options nearby.

“Not a bad park, it’s pretty decent and nice. The bathrooms are not the best and I’d suggest avoiding them.”

“Pretty chill park with picnic areas. But hill that overlooks it.”

“Every year, my family visits a tree at the top of the hill at Obregon Park that was once in the front yard of my father's yard when he was young, many years ago (pre Obregon Park). This year, we could not get too close to it. On the ground and on the tree it self were tons of larva and small Beatles. It is very upsetting to see this tree in bad shape. The leaves have been fed on as well. I hope that it gets the attention and care it needs. As we sat, we had them crawl on our shoes.”

Overview
Obregón Park features playground equipment, picnic areas with views over the surrounding hills, and free on-street and lot parking. The upper hill area has had documented pest activity around certain trees. Restrooms at the site are frequently locked. Best experienced as a daytime picnic destination rather than a destination playground.
