1 / 3Evelyn's Playground
📍 Manhattan, NY
Well-designed Manhattan playground split into younger-kid and older-kid zones with challenging equipment including a metal dome, sky wheel, and unique climbers. Public bathrooms and water fountains on site. Free entry.
Perfect place for kids from 2 to 12 years old. Much better than other playgrounds at Central Park
🏆 Family Action Verdict
A strong choice for families with children aged 2–12 wanting quality outdoor play in central Manhattan. The metal dome and sky wheel draw consistent praise for genuine physical challenge. The older-kid section skews wide — ages 4 through 15 share the same area — so younger children in that zone benefit from parental supervision during busy periods.

“We went to this park several times while we were visiting Manhattan. Every time it was super crowded. However, the park is large enough to handle a fair number of kids. There is a section for smaller kids and a section for older kids. However, the section for older kids seems to range from 4-5 up to 15-16, which is a wide range. However, everyone we met was friendly and most of the parents were very attentive. There are a number of slides and other interesting things to climb on in the big kid area. We only looked at the small kid area, so I can't really say how that part was.”

“The dome is a metaphor for life, in addition to the sky wheel. Very thoughtful play equipment that challenge the kids to their core.”
