1 / 3IFC Center
π Manhattan, NY
Manhattan arthouse cinema showing independent films, documentaries, festival selections, and restored classics. Regular director Q&As and special series like DOC NYC Selects. Subway-adjacent.
Iβve always passed by this theater for years. Growing up, I was always curious but I never went. This wasnβt until I saw my friendβs movie where he was the assistant editor to the movie ghostlight. It is a heart warming movie with one of the leads being from the movie triangle of sadness where she rocked the role. We need to support more independent films and you should check out ghostlight. Itβll really make my friend happy as this is one of the most important movies of his career. Donβt disappoint him. Heβs really tall and I heard tall people have a shorter lifespan than us short kings.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with teens and older kids who want film culture beyond the multiplex. Programming skews toward adult arthouse β not a destination for young children. Film-loving families will appreciate the quality curation, Q&A events, and cinephile atmosphere in a convenient Manhattan location.

βFor the best in indie. And plus the Black Gentleman who works at the concession stand was super cool and friendly. He added to the experience. Generally chill employees. A movie buffβs spot to just watch and be artsy flimsy. π β
