Lovely museum with mixed media craftsmanship and art. We went during Free For All Museum Day this year and enjoyed the two open exhibits on the 2nd and 3rd floor. I especially loved the mosaic tile, woodwork, ceramic, and fabric art showcased. The museum is across the street from the LA Brea Tar Pits so a quick walk between the two if you'd like to go to multiple museums in a single trip. Thank you for allowing free admission for this year's Free For All Museum Day. We are so appreciative for you welcoming us to see the art ☺️

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 8 and up who have some existing interest in art and craft. The three-floor layout keeps visits to a focused 45–90 minutes β€” manageable without overstaying attention spans. Combining it with the LA Brea Tar Pits directly across the street creates a full half-day museum itinerary without additional driving.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Park at the La Brea Tar Pits lot across the street and walk over β€” avoids the off-site parking hunt
⏰Check the museum website for Free For All Museum Day dates to visit without admission cost
🎟️The museum shop is worth browsing β€” items are made by exhibiting artists and change with exhibitions
πŸš—Executive Director tours and artist talks are occasionally scheduled β€” check the events page

β€œAmazing museum showcasing primarily women's art, which isn't the case in most LA museums. Really enjoyed the perfume exhibit, Tea Towel installation and the gift shop!”
