The Rink at Brookfield Place with Gregory & Petukhov
π Manhattan, NY
Outdoor ice rink on the Brookfield Place plaza with One World Trade Center backdrop. Lessons taught by Olympic figure skaters Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov. Less crowded than Rockefeller and Bryant Park rinks.
It's a small and intimate rink which I enjoyed after experiencing bigger rinks with more crowds. I highly recommend a sunset skate here! There was a bit of construction in the area when I came and it's still breathtaking! It's connected to a bustling center for shopping and eating as well. Lots of passersby, joggers, and runners. Lots to do, see, and enjoy! Check it out! I didn't see any lockers and maybe there were some that I just missed. Please about this but other than that I recommend!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a calmer, less crowded skating experience with a genuinely scenic backdrop. Sunset sessions deliver the strongest views. Beginners and young children benefit from the relaxed pace. Active construction between the rink and the waterfront partially obstructs river sightlines β go for the atmosphere, not just the panorama.

βI was truly amazed that this rink is open on March 26, 2024 given the mild temperatures we've been having for a few weeks now! The rest of the rinks in NYC have all closed due to the warmth. Small and cozy rink right outside the Brookfield Place. Usually, not too crowded. November 16, 2024 update: the rink had opened for the season! March 9, 2025 update: the rink IS closed for the season! !β

βGood times were had on this ice rink. Pretty small compared to others but if you catch it at sunset time itβs worth it. There is construction going on as of Dec 2025 between the rink and the water so the view is a bit obstructedβ

βMy nieces and I visited, and they had an amazing time. While it may not be as big as some other ice rinks, it is clean, affordable, not overly crowded, and the staff are helpful and attentive.β
