1 / 3Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens
📍 Queens, NY
Historic boys and girls club serving Queens families for generations with swimming pools, after-school programs, and summer camps, though recent reviews highlight facility maintenance concerns.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
While this club has served families for generations, current conditions make it difficult to recommend. Serious hygiene issues including cockroaches, moldy equipment, and unsanitary locker rooms create health concerns. Parents should consider other swim options until facility improvements are made.

“Variety has been a part of our family for generations. My granddaughter is in their summer day camp and she loves it. Sadly, there are spoiled parents complaining about the programs and facilities who think everything needs to be to their way. The leadership works hard and are also planning on building a brand new facility for the community. We need to support this organization that fights for kids and families. Anyone trying to speak bad about such a great organization is not a good person. We love you Variety and all your hardworking staff.”

Overview
Established in 1955, this nonprofit youth development organization offers swimming lessons, lap swimming, after-school programs, summer camps, and teen programs across multiple Queens locations. The club serves over 4,000 youth annually with free programming including film and media workshops, but recent visitor feedback indicates significant facility maintenance and cleanliness issues requiring attention.
