π Manhattan, NY
Historic cinema in a stunning 1926 building offering indie films and mainstream movies. Features an on-site cafe, friendly staff, and beautiful vintage architecture that makes movie-going special.
We watched Hamnet. It was good experience. Small theater. If you sit in the front, you will feel screen is too up above because the screen is quite small. Also you will feel you are not alone watching. There were many people crying during the movie but one person dramatically cried like a person who just went through tragedy. I felt so real while watching. The experience is there
π Family Action Verdict
This historic cinema offers a special movie experience with its 1926 architecture and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for families seeking indie films and unique venues. However, the serious harassment incident and poor security response raise safety concerns that parents should consider. Best suited for families comfortable with smaller theaters and willing to sit mid-to-back for optimal viewing.

βIt is a great place to come to see a movie here. From the moment I walked in, the ushers were friendly and welcoming, which really set a positive tone. They actually have an on-site cafe, which is a cool touch for a cinema. Unfortunately I missed it, but itβs definitely on my list for my next visit. Overall, it is a comfortable spot to watch a film. I be b.a.c.h.β

βBeen here a few times and all experiences were great. They have snacks for sale, beer, wine etc. And the interior is so beautiful the space was built in 1926 and watching films in here is so special. I went to see sinners in 70MM and it did not disappoint sound system was insane and the steep balconies and seating are really cool.β

βI did not know there was two of this in the city! Went to this location for a film festival and it was a delight to experience local and indie movies. They do show blockbuster movies but mixed in with other genres. Itβs a very well patronized theater and hope people consider membership so places like these donβt cease to exist.β
