This was our first ever visit to QT’s Vista Theater as our family braved the rain to attend an 8pm show of “No Other Choice”, a Korean drama/comedy/thriller. WOW! We were positively blown away by everything about this theater! First off, the ticket and snack bar prices are more than reasonable. Nothing like the overinflated prices at AMC, Edwards, Regal and so on… Vista Theater (VT) was completely renovated and a row of seats were removed on every other row to allow for more leg room and for patrons to exit their seats to use the restroom or purchase more food or beverages at the snack bar without ruining the experience for those seated next to you. The snack bar sold alcohol, RC Cola, candy favorites and ‘healthy’ candies, REAL buttered popcorn, coffee, etc. The ambiance of the entire theater was nostalgic, well kept, roomy, and had a vibe which is missing in many movie theaters today. They only show movies shot in 35mm or 70mm film, no digital shot movies. They show a short cartoon before the movie just like they did in the old days!!! No more than 3 trailer previews are shown, and a theater staff member comes out prior to the cartoon & previews and summarized the movie about to be shown and reminded patrons to silence their phones. This theater is the perfect place to see a mob movie, Die Hard, or any all time film faves. We couldn’t think of anything this theater didn’t have or could do better. The movie’s sound is even piped into the restrooms so if you have to leave for a few minutes, at least you can hear audio of the movie you’re missing while away from your seat. If 6-Star reviews were possible, the Vista Theater would be receiving one from me. We LOVED this theater!

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for film-loving families with older kids and teens who appreciate classic cinema and authentic film projection. Programming skews toward arthouse and adult-themed films — check the current bill before booking with younger children. The matinee family classics are the clearest fit for mixed-age groups.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

Movies start precisely at showtime with minimal or no trailers
🎟️Check the program carefully — most screenings are arthouse or classic adult films

Where do I begin at how awesome this theater is? Myself and a friend drove over from Phoenix to see "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" here as no one in our local had it on film, and this place did not disappoint! It was absolutely worth it to do an overnight trip to go here! The theater itself is seriously vintage Egyptian themed, but so well kept up and restored. The exterior has one amazing neon sign with full working scrolling lights. The inside theater seats are circa the earlier 2000's and they've spaced the rows such that there is tons of leg room so there is never any issue of someone waking by. They are a little bit narrow for fat guys though. It's also the old non-stadium seating, but even so with the row spacing you'd have to have a seriously tall person in front of you to have any issue seeing the screen. It's general admission, so get there early to get a seat if you're worried about it. The concession stand serves RC Cola and popcorn with real clarified butter as a topping. The prices weren't unreasonable either, I paid $22 for a large popcorn, soda and box of Red Vines. Did I mention that they played the movie on 70mm change over film protectors? The sound system shakes your feet and if anything was a little bit too loud at some points during the movie. Before the movie they played a Looney Tunes cartoon on what looked like a seriously used piece of film. There were previews for Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained, which only further added to the charm. In summary this place was quite an experience for a film buff and it's wonderful that Quintin Tarantino's has kept this alive for us to enjoy. I wouldn't have wanted to see this movie any other way.

My favorite theater in LA. I recently saw One Battle After Another here in beautiful Vistavision, and it was incredible. The theater is 1 of 4 in the world presenting the movie in that format. It’s a small theater owned by Tarantino, they play 1 movie in 1 room at a time. Added plus: They start the movie right at the ticket’s showtime with zero trailers, so when you go, get there early. The popcorn was also delicious, coconut oil, fresh butter, and perfect salt. They also sell Mexican Colas in glass bottles here, I had one and it was delicious. There’s a reason why EaterLA ranks the Vista Theater’s popcorn as the #1 best movie theater popcorn in LA. I will definitely be returning for the next movie!

Awesome movie theater experience. The programming is an excellent mix of new and classic films. Top notch refreshment options and comfortable seating. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The vintage theater has had a recent facelift. It’s updated, clean and beautiful, yet still retaining all its old Hollywood charm. Added bonus… Pam’s Coffy, an amazing coffee shop right next door. Well done! I highly recommend. Happy Trails!
