1 / 2Arte Museum New York
📍 Manhattan, NY
Multi-sensory digital art museum at Chelsea Piers featuring themed projection rooms — Waterfall Infinite, Flower Rose Odyssey, Beach Night Being, and interactive Tornado — combined with custom fragrances and soundscapes.
Can Google provide an extra star for Awesomeness? Well this place makes you wonder if you are in the land of Avatar. The colors, lights, sound, smell and the aura all come together to serve a surreal out of the world experience. First things first - the place does have covered parking (comes with a hour based fee) which you can enter through Pier 61, where this museum is situated but the space is limited. We literally drove around 4 times before we got lucky and got an empty spot. Next is the long line to get in. You book tickets through Fever app/website and the tickets are books for a particular day which means there is no specific time window to enter in a given day. People must have been standing for at least 30 mins in the cold weather before they could enter. We had a toddler and were provided quick access. Coming to the actual experience - the place has so many attractions that take your breath away. The waterfalls and flower garden were pretty cool. But for me the best experience was the Night Being that features large blue whales, dolphins and turtles and the Forest that features mystical creatures. They also have a digital art form transformation where you get to color and then scan a set of already printed animals like Bull, Elephant, Tiger and Phoenix that appear on large screens with your chosen colors. The Arte cafe was a fun spot too where they had digital art embedded on the tables and you end the tour on the gift shop. If you are looking for a good 2-3 hour of digital indulgence in NYC, this is the place.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Children from toddler age through early teens respond strongly to the scale and sensory layering of the projections — the Tornado room and the coloring-to-projection station are the most interactive draws for kids. Families prioritising photo opportunities will get the most value.

“This was a fantastic immersive experience! Its different from others I have attended. There are a multitude of rooms, each with a very different sensory rich experience. The imagery is beautiful. You definitely want to come with a fully charged camera as there are many many many opportunities to take fun photos. Favorite room is star! Try a pano in there and see what happens! You can also bring your own critter to life in the sketchroom. Great location at Chelsea Piers. Could use a few more lockers. We were there 3 hours but we took a LOT of photos and watched most experiences 2-3 times through. Once in you can stay as long as you like. Highly recommended.”

“This was such a cool experience and something different to do in the city! Each room and different music and smells which helped bring the atmosphere to life!! You can even draw and have your picture come to life and be apart of the museum for a few minutes. The cafe wasn’t my favorite but it was cool to watch your drink come to life at your table. Definitely recommend people of all ages to visit and would go again! I recommend getting tickets in advance”

“Really loved it. It was so beautiful and a wonderful escape from the cold and rain. We spent about an hour there, but honestly could have sat around and stared at the screens all day pretending to be in a different world. I took my parents and they loved it too. There’s a little coloring station I think our little 4 year old would love too. Nice, not cheap, but pretty worth it - especially if you’re a local NJ/NY resident with ID. Would go again.”
